A Brisbane worker who was seriously injured on Australia's biggest construction site has died in hospital.
The 40-year-old was crushed by a falling beam on Thursday while working in Brisbane's Airport Link tunnel at Lutwyche.
It sparked a stop work meeting and protest march in the city on Friday involving hundreds of construction workers over safety concerns.
Project director Gordon Ralph has extended his sincere condolences to the family of the worker on behalf of the joint venture companies.
He says as a mark of respect all work sites will be shutdown on Monday.
